The Founding Mothers and Fathers of The School Sisters of Notre Dame

Recently a newer member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame asked me a simple question: “Can you tell me about our SSND Family Tree?”

After focusing the question and realizing I would need something succinct and interesting, I decided to create this “family album.” It contains the most significant founding persons in SSND history. To learn more about our founding mothers and fathers, select an image below. As you read the text and glance at the pictures you will become better acquainted with these people or begin to know them for the first time. They were chosen because of their importance within the history of the School Sisters of Notre Dame.
